While both detoxes can be very beneficial, there are major differences in them. The EquiLife detox focuses on nutrition and liver detoxification, and can be done in as little as one week. This option can tend to be harsh for those who tend to be sensitive or have deeper health concerns. The DesBio detox is a longer commitment at 8 weeks, but this approach gives the body more time to adjust, and this plan is easily adaptable for those who are sensitive or who have underlying health conditions. Always consult your doctor with any concerns before starting a new program!

The short answer is no. For many reasons, we recommend only participating in the detox if you plan to use the supplements as written in the protocol, otherwise, results cannot be guaranteed. The Daily Nutritional Support drink is a full spectrum of vitamins, minerals, and proteins that help create the building blocks for a healthy body. It’s unlike other protein drinks in that it is free of caffeine, soy, dairy, wheat, and other major allergens. Being free of these ingredients also means it doesn’t contribute to inflammation, which is a root cause of many concerns in the body and, therefore, very important to limit. It also contains high-quality forms of easily absorbable vitamin sources, unlike many other drinks which contain very cheap, low-quality supplements like folic acid, (which is likely not being absorbed by your body + potentially making you unwell). The drink comes in your detox kit with the supplements you will be taking during the week.

For the EquiLife Detox: A few days before the detox begins, you will be given a food shopping list that will include all of the foods you can eat during the week. The list includes both plant-based and animal-based options, along with a variety of vegetables, some fruits, and healthy fats. There is also a daily nutritional support drink that you will have for breakfast + afternoon snacks on eating days and 4x a day on the optional fasting days. For the DesBio Detox: For this plan, there is not a specific diet to follow, however, a clean eating diet that includes grassfed and free range protein sources, lots of organic fruits and veggies, organic whole grains, and limited process foods and sugar will help to give you the best results possible and jumpstart your healthy journey. As another option, DesBio also offers the OmniCleanse Detox Protocol that includes nutritional support along with the same detox formulas that are in the Comprehensive Detox Protocol.

Yes, the plan includes two optional fast days on day 1 and day 2. But, rest assured, you will not be going without ANYTHING for 2 days! Your Daily Nutritional Support drink will provide you with all the necessary building blocks of vitamins, minerals, and protein to keep you satisfied throughout the day. These fasting days are completely optional but will help to detox your body, remove fat from your cells, and help to clear your bowels and jump-start weight loss.

While the detox plans are made for anyone to try, it’s always recommended to consult with your doctor regarding any health concerns, or possible interactions with medications. We cannot give any advice regarding medications.

Vegans and vegetarians would do very well on either plan. There are plenty of options for proteins, and the Daily Nutritional Drink has a plant-based protein. I personally do not recommend Keto as a diet in general, unless it is being used in the short term for a specific purpose and being administered under the watch of a functional doctor or nurse practitioner. Contrary to popular belief, your body DOES need good carbohydrates as necessary building blocks for your body. While you could still do this, you most likely would not be able to consume enough fats during this week to remain in a state of ketosis. If you are low-carb as in avoiding grains, then yes, you can absolutely do these detoxes. However, the EquiLife plan is not considered low carb since carb-based veggies are allowed during the week.
